Heritage Center
The Heritage Association of Frisco Inc., in conjunction with the City of Frisco is developing Heritage Center. Located between the old Downtown area of Frisco and the new Town Center development, the Center will tie the two together with the purpose of helping to preserve the rich heritage and history of Frisco and the Frisco area.
The park is being developed on approximately six acres of City property adjacent to the BNSF Railroad. Under development at the present time is a replica of the Frisco Railroad Depot, a Log Cabin, the Gaby Blacksmith Shop replica, the rehabilitation of the Noel Smith 1920 Windmill, the relocation and restoration of the Crozier-Covington-Sickle late 1800 Victorian house, its Chicken Coupe, the Carriage House, restoration of the late 1800 Lebanon Church and restoration of a the late 1800 McCallum "Out House."
The Museum will be a repository for collections that represent the life and history of the Frisco area. It will be the new home for the Bolin Museum which had been given to the City and Heritage Assn., by the Bolin family.
The park also is the home of a 1910 Steam Locomotive, its Tender as well as the historical Frisco RR wooden caboose which is being moved from Centennial Park to this Heritage Center. Both are adjacent to the Depot Restoration and reflect Frisco's RR heritage.
Future development plans include the Foncine Country Store, a One Room School, the Lane Service Station, and other buildings which will reflect Frisco History. Many of the buildings will house operating businesses.
