Frisco Heritage Association RSS Technology

The Heritage Association of Frisco is pleased to announce that we will be supporting RSS news feeds. This will allow you to see if any updates have been made to the Heritage web site from your favorite news reader.

What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a solution for sharing and distributing Web content, such as news headlines. Using an RSS reader, you can view data feeds from various news sources, such as CNN.com, including headlines, summaries, and links to full stories. RSS will be a major part of the next version of Windows and Internet Explorer.

How can I use it?

  1. If you want a simple standalone reader that does not collect information about you nor introduce additional advertisement, try RSSOwl.
  2. If you use My Yahoo! as your home page, add the content there. See Yahoo for directions.

How do I make my pages appear in the RSS feed?

If you are the editor of pages and you would like them to appear in the RSS news feeds, you page must include at least the RSSTitle variable as described below. Copy and paste the four lines below into the top of your topic and place an appropriate title and description.
<!--
   * Set RSSTitle = Frisco Heritage Association RSS Technology
   * Set RSSDescription = The Heritage Association of Frisco is pleased to announce that we will be supporting RSS news feeds. This will allow you to see if any updates have been made to the Heritage web site from your favorite news reader.
