Obituary of Emory Chappell
FUNERAL HELD AT FRISCO FOR EMORY CHAPPELL
Reputed To Be First Frisco Resident; Died Tuesday In McKinney City Hospital; Funeral Services Held Wednesday.
Emory C. Chappell, 85, reputed to be the first resident of Frisco, in West Collin, died in the City Hospital here Tuesday after a week's critical illness. He had been in feeble health for some time.
Funeral services were held in the Frisco Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. C.H. Wray, Baptist minister of Prosper. Burial was at Little Elm.
One son, Cube Chappell, survives. His wife died last March. He was born in Dade County, Mo., but came to Texas in young manhood and settled in Denton County. He later moved to Frisco, and was the first resident there, living in a tent while his house was being built. A daughter, who is now deceased, had charge of the Telephone exchange in Frisco for many years. He engaged in the restaurant business and was a carpenter for some time.
