“I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree”…taken from a poem entitled Trees. This American Elm with a diameter of over 4½ feet volunteered on this lot about 1900. As the tree grew, it was too close to the house that was on the lot at that time and about 1910 neighbors gathered to help transplant the tree to the front of house. It thrived in its new location and still stands there today. It is a special tree and a rich part of the history of Frisco as it has always been here to provide shade and a place to rest and countless hours of entertainment for the children who grew up in Frisco. “Poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree.” – Trees by Joyce Kilmer.
