|Kenneth Barnes, age 80 of Celina, Texas passed away February 3, 2005 in Dallas, Texas. He was born November 4, 1924 in Irene, Texas to Walter Lee and Mabel Iva (Wyatt) Barnes. He married Neta MyrleGotcher on June 25, 1947 in Ponder, Texas. Kenneth served in the U. S. Marines in WWII and fought in the Battles on SaiPan, Timian and Iwo Jima. He was of the Baptist faith. Kenneth was employed at Otis Elevator for thirty-one years as a construction foreman installing elevators. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Neta Myrle Barnes of Celina, Texas; son, David and wife, Debbie Barnes of Prosper, Texas; grandson, J. B. Barnes; brother, Jesse and wife, Mary-Ann Barnes of Frisco, Texas; sisters, Ruby Savage of Duncanville, Texas and Wanda Bolin of Canton, Texas; sister-in-law, Gladys Barnes of Mesquite, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Paul Barnes; brother, Walter Wyatt Barnes; brothers-in-law, Billy Gene Savage and Jess Bolin. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Frisco, Texas with Pastor Randy Wallace officiating. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2005 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Shriner Children’s Hospital of Dallas or charity of your choice.|
