Kenneth Rex Talley, age 72 of Frisco, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 in Plano. He was born on July 11, 1935 in Farmersville, Texas to Sherman G. and Robbie (Evans) Talley. He married Barbara Saunders on July 3, 1959 in Denton, Texas and together they had three children.

He began his career in the US Air Force in the Intelligence Department as a Russian Translator. Rex went on to own Ken’s Lumber in Frisco for 30 years and also Porter Lighting which he owned along with his sister and brother-in-law. He was an integral part of Frisco where he was named Citizen of the Year in 1998. He was a member of the Frisco School Board; was extremely active in youth sports, coaching baseball; a member of the Quarter Back Club; Planning and Zoning Board; Lions Club and was actively involved in the First Baptist Church of Frisco.

Rex is survived by his wife, Barbara Talley of Frisco, Texas; sons, Bobby Talley and wife, Karen of Celina, Texas, Cole Talley and wife, Traci of Celina, Texas; daughter, Rexanne Crysel and husband, Scott of Celina, Texas; grandchildren, Abby and Shannon Talley, Alex and Kate Talley, Kensey and Coby Crysel; sister, Mildred Minor; brother, Tom Talley; sister, Sandy Mathis; many nieces and nephews and a host of Friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Molly Crysel and brother Bobby Talley.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Frisco on Friday, June 20, 2008 beginning at 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Church on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 10:30 AM with Dr Jim Wicker officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park in Frisco. Arrangements are under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco.
