New this year for Merry Main Street!
Ride the horse drawn carriage from Simpson Plaza to the Heritage Center where you can take another ride down a real snow hill! Then, visit the Depot where kids can make old-fashioned paper chains and write letters to Santa. Shop for some unique gift items and take advantage of photo opportunities at Steam Engine #19 or the decorated historic structures at the Heritage Center (bring your own camera). Return by carriage to the Merry Main Street festivities at Simpson Plaza. Click here for a site map.

World War 1 Centennial & Veterans Day Recognition
“The Frisco Connection”
1:00pm – Heritage Museum, Second Floor Theater
Hear Mike Cates, BG, U.S. Army Retired tell the story of Frisco resident Frank Smith who was wounded the day before the Armistice. Smith’s childhood home is the Smith-Muse farmhouse that is now located at the Heritage Center.
1:30-3pm Heritage Center, Smith-Muse House
Following General Cates’ presentation, light refreshments will be served at the Smith-Muse House.
1-5pm Frisco Heritage Museum
Visit the museum free of charge where the Frisco and World War 1 exhibit tells the story of Frisco’s participation in the war effort through artifacts, photos, letters and other personal items are on display.

Meet the Gardener Author Presentation & Book Signing

Join Steve Huddleston, Senior Horticulturalist at the Ft. Worth Botanical Garden, for a presentation on gardening in North Texas. Learn how to use low water plants suitable for our area to create beautiful, colorful gardens. His book, Easy Gardens for North Central Texas, will be available for purchase and signing. The event is sponsored by the Frisco Library and Waterwise Programs of Frisco, and hosted by the Frisco Heritage Center. Teddy Bear Parade
Frisco Heritage Center
10am – Noon
This free family friendly event highlights the beloved Teddy Bear and its historic ties to animal and environmental conservation through its connection to the life of an American President, Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt.
Bring your Teddy Bear or other favorite stuffed animal friend to the Frisco Heritage Center’s Gazebo for a sidewalk parade around our park, led by National Park Trust mascot “Buddy the Bison” and “Ted E. Bear” from the Frisco Rough Riders baseball team.
After marching along our pathways, visitors will be treated to cookies and lemonade along with old-fashioned games and make-and-take crafts for themselves and their bears.
